I like the 5 steps to increase your confidence see below.

It’s important to have large goals cause when it’s seems like a big vision it’s more exciting to do them rather than small goals. What ever personal projects you have do think bigger than your initial plan.

Some of my Notes:

On setting goals:

I like that he says to stop the “Fake it till you make it” cliche, it phony. But instead tell the truth in advance (Zig Ziglar) I am going too…(insert whatever action). Don’t look at things that they are but what they can be.

People see something in their own thoughts and took actions to make it happen.

The person is the product of his own thoughts.

Stop Excusititis (Stop excuses) like I am too old, I don’t have a degree or network or experience etc.

Some middle age people have advantages early in life. Like those that have JD or advance degrees the irony is they suddenly realize they have been living someone else dream.

Henry David Thoreau

“I see young men, my townsmen, whose misfortune it is to have inherited farms, houses, barns, cattle, and farming tools; for these are more easily acquired than got rid of. Better if they had been born in the open pasture and suckled by a wolf, that they might have seen with clearer eyes what field they were called to labor in.”

Carve out your own path. Don’t follow or replicate the success of your parents.

It’s really a disadvantage when you have advantages early on in life. You don’t see or experience struggle.

Albert Einstein

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

Fear causes inactivity. The major obstacle to thinking big.

Action is the cure to fear. Indecision procrastination and inactivity adds to fear.

Do something fresh and new not something perfect initially.

Do what you fear and fear disappear. But plan out and take the calculated risks.

Lastly a great Recap and action we can put in today: https://overcast.fm/+JGMWtuMg/29:48

19:40 – 5 simple actions to help us feel more confident:

Be a front seater. Sitting up front builds confidence.

Practice eye contact. Looking the other person in the eye tells him, “I’m honest and confident.”

Walk 25% Faster. Psychologists link slovenly postures and sluggish walking to unpleasant attitudes towards oneself, work and the people around us. The extremely beaten people, the real down-and-outers, just shuffle and stumble along. They have zero confidence. The walk of a confident person tells the world, “I’ve got someplace important to go, something important to do.”
Throw your shoulders back, lift up your head, move ahead just a little faster and feel self-confidence grow.

Practice speaking up.
As you speak up, you add to your confidence. It’s a confidence building vitamin.

Smile big
. Try to feel defeated and smile big at the same time. You can’t do it. A big smile gives confidence. A big smile beats fear, rolls away worry, defeats despondency.
